It's official: television will hit an all-time low next year when a cable channel debuts their new show starring Ashley Dupre. Who is Ashley Dupre you ask? You may remember when in the begining of the summer, or the Pre-Dark Knight era of the earth, a young girl from New Jersey captivated the hearts and minds of the nation. That girl was Ashley Dupre, and she was the go-to hooker for the now former Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer.
The absurdity of this situation aside ( I mean really Eliot Spitzer? You were buying an overpriced, non-college educated, 19-20 year old, professional cock-taker, who would have been the 200th hottest girl at my school? All the while doing it on state-funded business trips and in hotels with state-issued credit cards? Really?!) this looming televison diarrhea is simply the most-hypocritical and lowest-evolved move of a society which is clearly on it's last legs. In the interest of equal time, I will also say that they brought back the Gong Show, and are now punishing Dave Attel for making one of the greatest TV shows of all-time (INSOMNIAC).
But worse than everything else is that she got a seven figure deal. She's a FUCKING HOOKER! I guarentee this show will be aired on some Fox affiliated network, and basically confirm that all Republicans have figured it out. If you are part of the rich majority, you can basically do and say whatever you want. You want to give Janet Jackson a fine for pulling out an old bag (in hindsight that fine was necessary as Janet had some shockingly gross tits), but when you want to let your 8-20 year old daughters have weekly viewing parties for a show based around cameras following a girl whose biggest life achievement is regularly fucking a mid-level politican for money, it's no problem. While I respect hookers for their talent, work ethic, stamina, adherence to principles and morality, and total lack of anything resembling shame, I do not think they are worthy of million-dollar entertainment deals...hell, you just gave her $20 for a hand job, nobody's pay scale slides that much...
