The CNN headline went as follows, "Jobless father kills family, self".
In a nutshell, some guy with a MBA degree who had worked for major accounting firms, "like Price Waterhouse", shot and killed his 3 sons, his wife, along with his mother in-law who was also staying in the up-scale San Fernando Valley home.
Karthik Rajaram, 45, left behind letters explaining his acceptance of all responsibility for the death of his family explaining that it was all due to financial stress that had been plauging the family.
As a self-proclaimed perma-bull when it comes to the market, I must admit that this economic downturn is certainly showing symptoms of a depression. When MBA grads start butchering their family, it may be time to put that Etrade account of yours on pause.
To make matters worse, his eldest son was a Fullbright Scholar and honor student at UCLA, and his other two sons were only 12 and 7.
I felt the urge to cover this story with a snarky, everyone-wants-to-kill-their-mother-in-law cliche joke, but this entire episode disturbs me. Especially considering that it was all committed by this walking, talking, bag of dicks:
